Facebook has
just been caught allowing a woman from Canada to illegally
advertise and sell the skulls of dead polar bears to people in
the U.S. Vanessa Rondeau runs a boutique shop filled with
expensive "oddities" — primarily the heads and bodies of dead
animals, including endangered, vulnerable, and
protected species. This violates the U.S. Endangered
Species Act, making it a crime. Yet to this day, her shop's Facebook page is
still live and active, and filled with new posts about other
murdered animals' remains.
Over the past six years, Rondeau
has shared approximately 30 posts offering polar bear skulls
for sale, providing information such as: "Friday deal!!
Juvenile polar bear skull 280$" In doing this, Rondeau
knew she was breaking the law. When speaking with a buyer who
happened to actually be an undercover agent with the U.S.
government, she bragged that authorities had never
caught her. But ultimately, the shop owner was so
flagrant with her criminal activities that authorities sniffed
her out. So why hasn't Facebook done anything? Sign the petition to demand that Facebook kick
this seller off its site, and actually abide by U.S. laws
protecting endangered animals!
Thank you,

P.S. This shop
on Facebook illegally sells the body parts of endangered
animals, including polar bears, crocodiles, and three-toed
sloths. Facebook must shut this seller down.
