More than 30,000 people have fled
violence in Ethiopia's Tigray region across the
border into Sudan -- a number that could climb
to 200,000 in the coming months -- and
communications and access restrictions in the
region are hampering humanitarian aid access,
United Nations officials say. The UN High
Commissioner for Refugees is appealing for a
cease-fire so aid can be delivered, while other
UN agencies have launched a $200 million appeal
to fund shelter, food and care for refugees
fleeing into Sudan. Full Story: Reuters
