Hi,
Every single one of us wants to play their part in protecting our planet. But this year, our leaders did not play their part, they chose to take the same path that brought us here.
They built the EU’s new farming deal (CAP), on old logic - stripping our environment to line the pockets of agriculture giants. [1]
Now we’re left with a deal that threatens the future of our bees, our health and the livelihood of thousands of families. Many family farmers are giving up.
But there is hope. Across Europe, a farming revolution is taking life. And it's spreading quickly. From Italy to Bulgaria and everywhere in between, people are rethinking farming to provide food in ways that respect our land and help the climate. [2]
But these ideas need the backing of a community like ours. [3] There are over a million of us, and when we each play our part it adds up to the kind of common action we know the climate needs.
In 2022 we can build a movement, spread knowledge and pressure politicians that have to implement the EU plan in each country now. They can still make changes that would benefit our climate, farmers and bees despite the bad deal our EU leaders gave us.
To make this a reality we need to know if we have the financial stability to keep working on it. Can you help chip in just €5 to make this ambitious plan a reality? We don’t have the deep pockets of agricultural giants but we do have a community of brilliant, committed people around Europe to help.

So what does this way of making food look like? Simply put, this is about going back to the way we used to farm before: in harmony with nature. It’s called ‘regenerative’ farming. It’s about planting diverse crops, taking great care of our soil and water and planting more trees where we farm. This is better for the food we plant. It has huge potential to stop climate change. It will bring back insects. The list of benefits is long. [4]
The incredible thing is that it’s already being used worldwide, from Sri Lanka, to Zambia, to parts of Europe and the US. It’s being used despite governments giving little money to incentivise this farming. That is what gives us hope. Despite decisions, laws, and money flowing in the wrong way, people worldwide are starting farming in harmony with the planet.
So here’s what we could do next year:
But it will need the backing of a strong community like ours if we want to counter the powerful agriculture giants who are set on business as usual to protect their billions in profits. Will you consider donating to help us action this plan?

[1] The common agricultural policy, known as CAP, pays
subsidies to EU farmers. It’s a big deal. It distributes 35% of the EU's
budget.

‘regenerative agriculture’? In short it is a method of farming that “improves
the resources it uses, rather than destroying or depleting them”
