Did you know that just 32 fossil
fuel companies created half of the world's carbon
pollution in 2024?
While families suffer through
deadly heatwaves, floods, fires, and droughts, a tiny group of powerful
corporations keeps pumping out pollution, raking in
profits while the world is left to pay for the
damage.
These companies know exactly what
they are doing. They have been warned for
decades that these emission levels are unsustainable and
deadly. And still, they expand oil and gas
production while communities drown, burn, and bake in
record heat.
This is not an accident. It is a
choice. And it is costing lives.
The
world already agreed under the Paris climate deal that
we must cut emissions fast. But emissions are still
rising. Meanwhile, island nations are disappearing as
sea levels rise, farmers are losing crops, and children
are breathing toxic air. It is beyond
unfair. The people causing the crisis are not
the ones paying the price.
Sign the petition to demand
that the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC) hold these companies
accountable. The UNFCCC must work with the
countries where these fossil fuel giants are based to
put strict emissions caps in place and establish climate
relief funds that the companies themselves
pay.
They created this crisis. They profited from
it. It's time we stop them, and
make them pay for the damage that's already been
done.
