The European Model of Rural Development will be Introduced in Keda
Municipality

The EU-funded project “Optimisingthe Potential of Local Assets for Rural Development of Keda Municipality” isimplemented by CENN in partnership with the Center for Strategic Researchand Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Institute of Democracy (IoD) andAustrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (ÖIR).The project aims at diversification of the local economic activities,improving investment climate, and empower competitive agricultural andenvironmental practices in Keda Municipality via bottom-up strategicplanning of rural development. It follows the earlier EU-supported ruraldevelopment actions under ENPARD in Borjomi, Lagodekhi and Kazbegimunicipalities. This year, EU launched rural development projects in fivenew municipalities including Keda, Khulo, Dedoplistskaro, Tetritskaro andAkhalkalaki municipalities.At the launching event in Keda, opening speeches were delivered by CENNExecutive Director Nana Janashia and Governor of Keda Municipality DavidDumbadze. Presentation on the European Model for Rural Development inGeorgia was made by the EU Delegation Project Manager for Environment andRural Development Alvaro Ortega Aparicio.
