Republicans are holding us hostage in the longest
government shutdown in history, all for their
racist border wall.
If we budge on wall funding, Trump will be
empowered to shut down our government for every
hateful, ego-driven scheme he can’t get through
Congress.
We took back the House of Representatives with
unprecedented youth voter turnout in key states,
because we’re tired of being treated like pawns in
Donald Trump and the GOP’s political agenda. We
must continue to fight for our communities who are
being impacted gravely by this shutdown, and
against the selfish, unjust political tactics of
the Republican Party.

Trump’s shutdown has withheld pay for 800,000
government workers causing their families to
scramble to cover basic necessities like food,
housing, and healthcare. Democrats in the House of
Representatives have passed eight different bills
to end the shutdown, but Mitch McConnell has
impeded progress and continues to enable Trump at
the expense of American workers.
The government belongs to and works for the
American people, not a racist president or a
Senate full of spineless officials. Last November,
Republican representatives and candidates learned
that the hard way when we flipped the
House.
