Hi,
In just two days, Apple shareholders will vote on a SumOfUs
resolution demanding Apple comes clean about forced labor in its
supply chain.
Investors care what customers think – if they see that
Apple’s customers are appalled by the company’s complicity
in the brutal repression of Uyghurs, it could persuade them
to back our resolution.
So we went out onto the streets of L.A with our Uyghur friend
Kabir to talk to Apple customers and reveal to them the
terrible truth about their favorite products.

this video as possible.

Shareholders know that forced labor is a terrible look for any
brand, but especially for one like Apple. Once they realize the
company’s links to horrific human rights abuses is wrecking
its brand and putting off customers, they’ll push Apple
bosses to act.
Some of the world’s most powerful investors have already said
they’re going to back the resolution - let’s make sure other
investors follow suit!
Watch
now then share it far and wide!
Our shareholder activism is working. In
2020, 13 SumOfUs members co-filed a resolution calling on Apple to
implement a human rights policy, and got an unprecedented 40% vote
in favor. The overwhelming response from shareholders forced the
company to reconsider its position and resulted in it creating a
human rights policy after all.
We can do it again. Investors don’t want
Apple’s squeaky-clean brand tainted with allegations of forced labor
because they know it will put off customers and slash profits.
Let’s make sure Apple shareholders know customer loyalty is at
stake - and they have the power to force Apple to act.
