Project  Closing Ceremony  "Forest Fruits - Markets for Women"



Non-governmental organization "Rural Communities Development Agency" (RCDA)
held the closing ceremony of the project "Forest Fruits - Markets for Women"
on January 23 at “Betsy's Hotel”.



The aim of the event was to introduce and summarize the results achieved
during the three-year project.



The event was attended by the representatives of the beneficiary
cooperatives, project partner organizations and representatives of private,
governmental and non-governmental sectors.



At the end of the event, several participants have been awarded with the
appreciation certificates for collaboration and contribution to the
successful implementation of the project.



The project was implemented by the organizations: "Rural Communities
Development Agency" (RCDA) and "Bridge - Innovation and Development" in
cooperation with "OXFAM Georgia" and the financial support of Big Lottery
Fund (BLF) in 2015-2018.



Within the framework of the project, five women cooperatives were
established in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, the main direction of which is
collection, processing and marketing of non-timber forest products. Within
the frame of the project a model of community based enterprises/facilities
was developed that can be easily replicated in any part of the country and
beyond. The project supported the cooperatives in establishing second level
cooperative and Marketing and Sale Center and developed an innovative online
internet platform for trading by non-timber forest products.
