It’s a wrap!
Last week, former
US Vice President Al Gore hosted 24 Hours of Reality: Be the
Voice of Reality, a live global broadcast event featuring 24
straight hours of thought-provoking conversations on climate change
with celebrities, world leaders, and business visionaries. Stars
like Shailene Woodley, Helen Hunt, Téa Leoni, HGTV’s Jonathan Scott,
and Mariah Carey joined us. World and business leaders including
Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, New Zealand Prime Minister
Jacinda Ardern, and Richard Branson discussed solutions that are
working in their nations. And award-winning musicians like Sheryl
Crow, Annie Lennox, Ellie Goulding, The Killers, and Ryan Tedder and
Brent Kutzle of OneRepublic took the stage to speak truth to power
in the fight for climate solutions.
Because of
supporters like you, we reached over half-a-billion households on
television. The live broadcast received more than 32 million views
online, and over 1,400 people used their social media platforms to
broadcast the program, making 24 Hours of Reality the
world’s largest social broadcast on a social issue ever. Thank
you!
Why do these
numbers matter?
Because no matter
what’s happening with the latest outrage or fossil fuel giveaway
from the White House, the people of the world are in this together.
These numbers tell you that your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and
more are with you.
Because momentum
is with us. Because together, if we speak up, we have the numbers to
win.
