I have some alarming news about our fight to save the bees.
I just got off the phone with Canadian government officials:
they are postponing the final decision on the ban on
bee-killing neonic pesticides that you worked so hard to
achieve.
The reason: apparently there’s “new scientific evidence” that
must be considered. But we know the science is clear --
neonics are killing bees.
We need to make sure that pesticide giant Bayer is not
feeding corporate studies to the government to kill the proposed ban
-- before it’s too late for the bees. The Canadian
government needs to know that the world is watching -- and that we
won’t let them put Bayer’s profits before the critical health of our
bees.
Tell
the Canadian government to protect the proposed ban on neonic
pesticides.
The bees are in trouble in Canada. Just this
past summer, one study showed deadly levels of neonics in soil in
Southern Ontario killing bees. And another study showed that wild
bees, just as important for pollination as honey bees, are at risk
of extinction.
The good news is -- it’s not too late. There’s still time
to save the bees. But Canada needs to act quickly to ban
the neonic pesticides that are killing the bees -- not pander to
pesticide giants like Bayer.
Save
the bees -- tell the Canadian government to uphold the proposed ban
on neonics.
Again and again SumOfUs has been at the forefront of the fight
for the bees. Just this past week, you won another victory
against new neonic pesticides in France.
Pesticide giants like Bayer and Dow will stop at nothing
to keep their bee-killing products on the market. But when
we act together, we can, and have, stopped these Agri-giants from
putting profit over our planet.
