In the US, we started our chapter program a
little over a year ago to engage communities in
climate action, and the results have been
incredible. But chapters are only part of our
story. |
Climate Reality is a truly global organization
– and our nine international branches are taking
climate action all around the world.
|
To celebrate World Environment Day, The Climate
Reality Project Africa provided its Climate
Reality Leaders with a resource toolkit to help
coordinate a day of action across the continent.
These incredible everyday activists organized
educational activities to empower youth to take
action for climate change solutions in eight
different African nations. |
In India, our branch recently trained 120 new
teachers as part of its ongoing Teacher's Training
Program on Climate Change, and held major meetings
in six different states to promote clean energy in
business. | |

Our Canadian branch has established Community
Climate Hubs in 20 Canadian municipalities,
including major cities like Toronto, Montreal, and
Ottawa. The hubs function a lot like our US-based
chapters, and also like them, they are achieving
fantastic things on the ground.
The mayor of Montreal recently signed the
Montreal Climate Hub’s declaration for the city to
become carbon neutral by 2042. The hub has also
been a key collaborator in designing the
consultation process that will feed into the
writing of the city’s 2020-2024 sustainable
development plans. |
Meanwhile, the Ottawa Climate Hub has been a
key player in setting National Climate League
metrics, which are used across Canada as a
benchmark for tracking greenhouse gas emissions
and will be presented at COP 24 in Poland in
December. |
