Industrial-scale loggers and palm oil plantations are cutting
deep into one of the oldest forests on Earth — home to orangutans,
elephants, and over a million Indigenous Peoples who depend on it
for their survival.
Today we can help them defend it, forever.
Working with our long-time partner Rainforest Trust, we have
an extraordinary opportunity to help Indigenous
Dayak Peoples in 56 villages in Borneo secure and protect
500,000 acres of rainforest through land tenure rights.
Supporting government designation takes a lot of work, but when it
happens, it will prohibit industrial-scale
exploitation of any kind, including commercial
hunting, logging, and mining.
Industrial logging operators are actively clear-cutting near
the project area, posing an imminent threat to this
wondrous place. Can you chip in to help give the oldest forest in
the world a safe future?
Eko’s contribution to the project will be matched 3x, tripling
our impact!

Borneo’s tropical rainforests are among the oldest and most
intact on Earth. They’re critical to global conservation, but have
already been reduced by half by the ravenous palm oil and
logging industries, and other threats.
Rainforest Trust is supporting on-the-ground partner Komunitas
Konservasi Indonesia Warsi, which has years of experience in the
region. The proposed protected area can be found here, where the
arrow is pointing, adjoining one of the largest already-protected
areas and national parks in Borneo:

In this area alone over 500 species have been documented,
including endangered gibbons (pictured above!) and a variety of
hornbills, like the Critically Endangered Helmeted Hornbills
here:

Most Indigenous communities in these remote forest areas are only
accessible by boat, and each village will be consulted throughout
the project. Our contribution will not only help establish their
legal rights, but also ensure that support is provided to these
communities for species monitoring and capacity-building on
sustainable forest management.
Can you chip in to protect this forest
and help us work on more campaigns just like
this one?
Again, Eko’s
contribution to the project will be matched 3x, tripling our
impact!
