Hi,
European leaders are due in Brussels this week to talk about the issue of our time: the climate crisis. Negotiations, however, have already started and Monday will be a key day.
But while European citizens called, during the European elections, for a decisive response to the climate crisis, a leak has just shown our leaders plans could be very disappointing - unless we up the pressure. [1]
Will they be up to the challenge of our time? Or will they fall prey to the agenda of politicians who still deny climate change and corporate lobbyists? [2]
With mass students mobilisations rising over the past months and last month’s green wave in EU election results, the pressure is mounting. Let's add our voices to it and demand that they take bold action for a green transition, and power our economy with renewable energy!

Many families in Europe are already experiencing the consequences of a rise in temperature - they’re losing their livelihoods and income, their traditional ways of life and could be forced to migrate elsewhere. [3]
Some of these families who are already hard hit by climate change have decided to up the pressure for action: they are touring Europe to let us know of their plight. [4] They've already talked to tens of MEPs, high-level Commission representatives and many national leaders to tell them how climate change is affecting people in Europe, right now. People like Romanian Petru Vlad and Swedish Saami Sanna Vannar are showing the human face of climate catastrophe to our politicians.
In a few days, our leaders will have a chance to side with us, with all Europeans impacted by climate change and the youth asking for better climate protection. The green transition brings with it a lot of opportunities. Our governments should be willing to reap those benefits and not listen to those who want to slow down the further development of our countries for purely ideological reasons.
With a European wave of change on the move, and with nearly 200,000 people of our We Move Europe community already mobilised, momentum is on our side. Add your voice to the call before our leaders meet this week.

With hope,
Olga (Bologna), Jörg (Lübeck), Virginia (Madrid), and the rest of us at WeMove.EU
PS. Global mobilisations like the students’ wave led by Greta Thunberg and the affected families touring Europe have paved the way over the past months -- the climate crisis cannot be ignored any longer, so let's add our voices to this call. Sign now!
