Protect those who save lives and the environment, and fight corruption! Whistleblowers should not lose their job and reputation. This week, the EU finally can protect them!

Hi,

It’s a tough decision to make: should you disclose wrongdoing that your boss wants you to hide? You risk your job, your livelihood and your reputation. And right now there is no EU law to protect you. We need to change this!

Sign to Protect Whistleblowers!

The negotiations starting this week in Brussels are our moment to empower those who blow the whistle. [1] We need your support in this final push to ensure that we secure genuine protections for whistleblowers.

Last year, the Commission proposed a directive to protect whistleblowers. The Parliament improved it and now together with the Council all three institutions need to agree on the final text. [2] The risk is that the EU will not provide good enough protections and will merely pay lip service to the idea.

Urge the EU to have strong protections for whistleblowers!

Without whistleblowers, the public would have never found about scandals like the Panama Papers which uncovered how the super-rich use offshore companies to facilitate bribery, arms deals, tax evasion, financial fraud and drug trafficking. [3]

We’ve been fighting for years to gain strong protections for whistleblowers in the EU. After long and persistent campaigning, together we can finally secure strong protections for those who blow the whistle. Let’s tell the EU: protect those who save lives, the environment and fight corruption. Sign!

In the name of justice,

Mika (Bordeaux), Giulio (Roma), Marta (Warsaw), Jörg (Lübeck) and the team at WeMove.EU
