I want to alert you to a press release (https://www.bp.com/en/global/corporate/news-and-insights/press-releases/bernard-looney-announces-new-ambition-for-bp.html) which was issued earlier today and in which BP announces its new ambitions as an energy company. 

 

Bernard Looney took over as our CEO just last week and has today announced a new corporate purpose and low carbon ambition for the company. 

 

Our new purpose is to reimagine energy for people and our planet. 

 

Our ambition is to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner and to help the world get to net zero too.  

 

We are backing this up with five aims to get BP there, and five to help the world do so.  You can find all the details on our website – www.bp.com/reimagine.

 

In case you are interested in further detail, our new CEO, Bernard Looney, will be clarifying these ambitions in a live webcast later today, for which you can sign up at webcast.
