Birds are at
their most vulnerable right now. We must protect

Three-Quarters of Bird Species
in North America Are Hurtling Towards Extinction as
Populations Drop
Off | | |
Approximately 75% of bird
species across the North American continent are
dying off. This includes birds like sweet little
chickadees, red-winged blackbirds, great egrets, little
blue herons, peregrine falcons, and more.
As their population
numbers plummet, it shows that we are moving closer and
closer to a massive extinction
event.
Many culprits have
contributed to this problem. Climate change is
disrupting their food sources and breeding grounds.
Human development projects — including clearing
land for farms — are tearing down their ecosystems. And
pesticide use is poisoning them.
And
now, it's all set to get so much worse. Donald Trump
has been hell-bent on attacking the environment and
tearing apart wildlife protections. As just one example,
he even recently directed the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service to redefine what constitutes "harm" to
endangered species — just so that corporations can
get away with more oil-drilling and logging in
old-growth forests.
We must be doing
everything we can to save North American birds —
not make the situation worse for them. Sign the petition to demand
the Trump administration immediately stop its attacks on
endangered species, wildlife, oceans, and the
environment!

P.S. Birds are
connected to everything and an indicator of the health
of ecosystems overall. This is a frightening moment not
only for them, but also for humanity and the rest of the
world. Sign the
petition. |
