Earth Day Week in Ninotsminda Municipality




28 April, celebrating the Earth Day Week a clean up action has been carried
out in Ninotsminda municipality within the framework of the campaign “Clean
Up Georgia”. The event was organized by regional coordinator of the Greens
Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth Georgia.



During the action, the city's fortress area, neighbourhoods of city entering
road from village Khospio, "Amirani Gori" area, as well as recreational
areas in the municipality, adjacent of squares and parks, neighbourhoods of
town Ninotsminda and its villages were cleaned up.



Local self-governance board employees, representatives of Gamgebeli in
territorial units, Council deputies, as well as Cleaning Service and various
N(N)LEs took part together with organizers in the event, during which,
approximately 10 ha area has been cleaned up, 150 bags of waste were
collected, The action was attended by 150 people.



Clean up action in Ninotsminda municipality has been conducted within the
framework of the project “Clean Up Georgia” (Phase III) and implemented by
NGO consortium Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth Georgia,
Georgian Society of Nature Explorers “Orchis, “Ecological Awareness and
Waste Management” with financial support of Swedish Government and in
collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources
Protection of Georgia and Solid Waste Management Company.
