On the first day of COP27, government and philanthropic leaders will announce new commitments to catalyze high-level political support for the global UN 30x30 goal – to protect 30% of land and marine environments by 2030 – ahead of the upcoming Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) in Montreal next month.
At the Nature Zone Pavillion’s first event – hosted by the Bezos Earth Fund, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Campaign for Nature – Presidents and ministers from Zambia, Palau, the United Kingdom, France, Costa Rica, Samoa, United States, Nigeria, and Gabon will underscore the importance of 30x30 for climate, nature, and people.
