It is weird how the basic elements of the greenhouse effect have to be
explained again and again, with plenty of people suddenly "discovering"
that CO2 cannot cause the warming we see because of this or that, and
besides it is good because it is food for plants. The latter statement
is becoming the centerpiece of a coordinated propaganda campaign that
conveniently forgets how it has been known from the early 1970s that
higher CO2 concentrations in greenhouses (the glass kind) increase plant
growth in terms of weight, but not in terms of nutrient content.

Here, Roy Spencer patiently explains some of the basic elements of the
greenhouse effect. He is often vilified and branded as a denier, but he
remains a serious scientist, and when it comes to science he knows what
he is talking about
