The Appeals Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals delivered today its judgement on the appeals filed by Mr. Radovan Karadžić and the Prosecution against the judgement rendered on 24 March 2016 by a Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (“ICTY”). Mr. Karadžić was convicted by the Trial Chamber of genocide, crimes against humanity, and violations of the laws or customs of war and sentenced to 40 years of imprisonmen. The Appeals Chamber imposed on Mr. Karadžić a sentence of life imprisonment. Read more A European Parliament study entitled “The cost of non-Europe in the area of legal migration” has been published. It analyzes the benefits that would derive from a possible strengthening of European action in the context of national migration policies.
