Was your 2018 filled with more joy or sadness? However your year went, we hope you had good people with you to share the happy times and some who stayed close when times were tough.
These friends and family members are what motivates a lot of us to challenge politicians and corporations to make better decisions - because we know those decisions can shape the lives of people we care about.
That’s definitely true for the WeMove team. We’re a close-knit bunch who work to build connections between people, bringing hundreds of thousands of us together to change Europe for the better.
And three new campaigners just joined us: Marta, Alex and Giuilo!
We’re so excited to welcome these new friends that we want to introduce them to you. We hope you’ll help welcome them with a donation to help power the big campaigns they’ll lead for change in 2019.

Marta is based in Warsaw. She’s been involved in workers’
rights, progressive foreign policy and democratisation of the EU. She has a
degree in economics, but also brings a depth of knowledge about the roots of
Europe, with a PhD in European history. In her free time, she pursues her old
hobby of playing the piano.
Big plans for 2019: Marta wants to help the voices of European citizens to be heard, make sure women are well represented in the European elections, and improve the day-to-day lives of workers.

Alex
lives in Marseille. He brings over eight years of policy and advocacy
experience to the team. Before joining the WeMove team, he worked for Oxfam
where he led their international work to get the finance industry to pay its
fair share of taxes, known as the “Robin Hood tax.” His passions include rock
climbing and hiking in the mountains.
Big plans for 2019: Alex wants to make companies pay their fair share in taxes, fight the far-right’s hate machine, and protect nature.

Giulio
came to Rome via his childhood home of Sicily and then New York. He
learned about the environmental damage caused by the fossil fuel industries
while working as a lawyer for oil companies. The work didn’t fit his conscience,
so he left to work as an investigator exposing oil industry scandals in Libya.
In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and squash.
Big plans for 2019: Giulio wants to challenge the energy sector to go green, encourage transparency by governments (and companies), and take on corruption at all levels.
These new campaigners join our existing team who work in German, Spanish and English, helping mobilise people across Europe on issues that we can make a difference on together.
We’ve got the right team in place, and we’re so ready to deliver on our big plans for 2019 - but we can only do it if we have funding. Would you consider giving their work a boost with some additional funding?
Your donation will help cover travel costs and props when we need to organise a stunt to get the attention of journalists and politicians. It will help make sure we have up-to-date digital tools to spread the word and gather signatures.
WeMove.EU is the only campaigning organisation in Europe focusing on the EU as a whole, and working to mobilise people in a strategic, coordinated way across borders.
