Now is the time to sign up for volunteer projects in 2016 with the Vegetation and Ecological Restoration Branch in Yosemite.  We are gearing up for a big year of restoration all over the park. We are looking for group and individual volunteers.  Camping will be provided for group projects.
Bloom Blitz!
May 22, 2016

Who: Groups and Individuals interested in Botanical exploration
What: Follow trip leaders on trails to document the plants that bloom in the years following a wildfire using the iNaturalist app.  
Camping provided: Yosemite Valley, Hodgden Meadows, and Hetch Hetchy

Tuolumne Meadow Restoration
May 31 - July 15

Who: Group sizes between 5-25.  Ages 14 and up.
What: Restore Tuolumne Meadows to a sedge dominated meadow! Activities include: small fence installation, planting native plants, and seed collection
Where: West end of Tuolumne Meadows

High Country Invasive Plant Removal
June 2016

Who: Group sizes between 5-25.  Ages 12 and up.
What: Stop the spread of these pesky non-native plants into Yosemite's high elevations.  We'll be removing dandelions with small hand tools
Where: Meadows and roadsides in Tuolumne meadows

Wilderness Restoration: Out of Bounds Campsites
July and August 2016

Who: Individuals ages 14 and up.
What: Keep the wilderness wild.  We'll be performing illegal campsite restoration starting at trailheads off of Tioga Road
Where: Meeting at Trailheads off of Glacier Point Road and Tioga Road
When: July 5-7, Aug 9-11, Aug 16-18, Aug 23-25

Drop-In Volunteering
June - September 2016

Who: Individuals and small groups
What: Drop-in for a day to volunteer
Where: Tuolumne Meadows and Yosemite Valley
When: TBD, see the most current Yosemite Guide for details.
No sign-up required and no camping provided for these days.
