Thursday, April 14th 6:30-8pm: “Photographing Antarctica” A Talk by Photographer Steve Mandel at the

San Jose Public Library

FREE

Come to our “Photographing Antarctica” talk with conservationist and amateur photographer Steve Mandel. His photos have been displayed at the Smithsonian and he’ll talk about the fun, the challenges, and some of the environmental dangers facing Antarctica. The talk will feature images of some of the wildlife in the Falklands, South Georgia Island, and the Antarctic Peninsula.  The talk includes a short video on icebergs shot with conventional cameras, a special remotely controlled “split” camera used to photograph above the surface and below the surface shots of icebergs, and drone footage.
