Dear Colleagues:
As we prepare for the next academic year, the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES) seeks the next generation of environmental problem solvers to join our unique Doctorate in Environmental Engineering (D.Env.) program.
At the IoES, our mission is to move science to action on the front lines of environmental progress. Using Los Angeles and California as a testbed, IoES promises solutions for the broader world—and our commitment to communication makes sure our ideas are heard.
The D.Env. program is unique in that it blends academics and practical experience to train our graduates to apply their learning to real problems. In their first two years, students take academic courses, complete a one-year research project, and participate in communications courses so they are well-prepared to communicate the challenges facing our environment. Internships provide practical experience in environmental analysis and management as well as the opportunity to conduct dissertation research while embedded in a public agency, business or non-profit organization and supervised by a UCLA doctoral committee.
We are accepting applications for the 2017-2018 academic year through December 31, 2016 and ask that you share the D.Env. program with graduates of your master’s programs.
