Hello all,

Long time no see! I hope you are doing well.

As some of you might know, I am currently working for a nonprofit called Nutrition INSIDE that was started by LC alumn Aidan O'Connor, where I serve as Head of Partnerships. Nutrition INSIDE's mission is to ensure that all individuals - both inside and outside - have access to nourishing food, with the long-term goal of confronting the deeply rooted norm in the United States that allows incarcerated individuals to be treated as second-class citizens.

Recently, a member of our leadership team stepped away to pursue starting her own nonprofit, and we are now searching for a new Community Team Lead. I was hoping you might be willing to share this opportunity with your classes and within the ENVS department!

The Community Team Lead organizes and supports volunteer drivers who transport food to where it is most needed. This leader trains volunteers, approves service readiness, and builds clear, adaptable systems that keep operations running smoothly and inclusively. The role partners closely with Growing Gardens to meet evolving volunteer needs and strengthen our other programs.

This volunteer position is ideal for an organized, collaborative leader who wants to create meaningful opportunities for community members to serve while advancing the impact and reach of Nutrition INSIDE’s mission.

Start Date: April 15, 2026
End Date: January 15, 2027 (9 months)
Option to Continue: Available based on program needs and mutual agreement
Time Commitment: 5–7 hours per week

You can find more information about the role here:

Thank you so much for considering sharing this opportunity with students who may be interested! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Best,
Elena Malpica-Vargas
