Outraged: Why We Fight About Morality and Politics and How to Find Common Ground

with Kurt Gray

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16
1:00 - 2:00 PM ET on Zoom

Why do we get so outraged over certain issues and what makes understanding each other feel so out of reach?

Join us for a timely and thought-provoking workshop with Dr. Kurt Gray, acclaimed psychologist and author of Outraged: Why We Fight About Morality and Politics and How to Find Common Ground.

In this engaging session, we will explore the psychology behind moral disagreements and political polarization. We’ll unpack why our moral minds are wired for conflict—and how we can use that same wiring to foster empathy, understanding, and honest dialogue across difference.

Whether you’re a leader, educator, artist or simply someone seeking to foster productive conversations during challenging times, this workshop will offer practical tools and strategies for engaging others with compassion and clarity.

We hope to see you there!

The National Students Poets Program supports the power of youth voices to create and sustain meaningful change through poetry. The nation’s highest honor for young poets (grades 10–11) creating original work, the program encourages youth ambassadors to spread poetry in their community through service oriented projects.

Last fall, our guest artists were alumni from the National Students Poets Program joined us for a poetry reading and panel discussion celebrating youth voice and the power of poetry as a liberatory force.

Check out the recording of A Wound That Fights: Poetry for Liberation featuring National Student Poets Program Alumni to explore how poets speak truth to power and help us all expand our world view.
