Subject: Join Us at the Comparative Animal Law Symposium — Free and Online!
To: <en...@lclark.edu>

This event brings together scholars, students, and practitioners from around the world to explore emerging ideas in comparative animal law.

Registration is now open to join CALS and our co-hosts for the 4th Annual Comparative Animal Law Symposium, taking place virtually on March 17-18, 2026.

This free online event brings together scholars, students, and practitioners from around the world to explore emerging ideas in comparative animal law. We hope you’ll join us for two days of thoughtful conversation, innovative ideas, and meaningful connection across backgrounds and interests.

Across both days, you’ll hear from leading academics and early-career scholars alike, with plenty of space for discussion. In addition to presentations by early-career scholars from around the world, the event will feature a keynote presentation on March 17th by Geoffrey Samuel, Professor Emeritus, Kent Law School (United Kingdom), “How Should a Comparative Lawyer Engage With Animal Law?” and a roundtable discussion on March 18th on Strategic Litigation Against Global Industrial Animal Agriculture.

This symposium is free, virtual, and open to the public. Please note the event details, including that times shown are London GMT +1.  To register, click here.

We hope to see you there!

The Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS) was founded in 2008 with a mission to educate the next generation of animal law advocates and advance animal protection through the law. CALS has since developed into a world-renowned animal law epicenter, and our Alumni-in-Action are advancing legal protections and making a difference for animals around the world. CALS is a self-funded center within Lewis & Clark Law School operating under the Lewis & Clark College 501(c)(3) tax exemption, and is able to provide these educational opportunities through donations and grants.
