Future Climate Collective is seeking dynamic, mission-driven local college students with a background in climate science to join our Future Climate Fellows program. This short-term paid fellowship places emerging climate experts into high school classrooms to lead interactive lessons on climate change science and resilience. We will be offering a small stipend ($3000-5000).
Fellows are passionate communicators and changemakers, typically majoring in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or related fields, who can inspire and connect with high school students on the science and solutions of the climate crisis.
Role Responsibilities
- Teach or co-facilitate engaging, standards-aligned climate education lessons
- Support classroom dialogue that integrates climate facts with emotional resilience
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance existing curriculum
- Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and classroom dynamics
- Help students feel empowered and informed about the future of the planetQualifications
- Current college student with academic focus in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field
- Passionate about climate, youth empowerment, and education
- Strong communication and public speaking skills (experience with teens highly recommended)
- Comfortable facilitating discussions and leading activities in hybrid settings
- Culturally responsive, collaborative, and emotionally intelligent
- Must attend school around the Portland area
