You’re invited to OSPIRG’s first Youth Food Waste Summit!
Come join students, nonprofit leaders, and more at the University of Oregon Saturday April 11th from 10am-4pm for the first ever Youth Food Waste Summit!
Over 800,000 tons of food goes uneaten in our state each year. Less than a quarter of that waste is composted: the rest is dumped down drains, sent to incinerators, or ends up in landfills. This food could be feeding the hungry, or disposed of sustainably. So, OSPIRG is working to pass a bill that requires large businesses like restaurants and grocery stores to donate or compost uneaten food. In order to win, we are going to need to build a ton of public support for this issue for the next year! So, we’ll be hosting the first ever Oregon Youth Food Waste Summit!
Join us for a day of workshops, panels, and briefings on April 11th from 10am to 4pm, in the Erb Memorial Union at the University of Oregon.
