Hello Dr. Kleiss,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Trudi Timperman, and I coordinate a summer internship program at the Terra Nova School of Science and Sustainability, a high school option program within the Beaverton School District.
Terra Nova operates an on-site organic learning farm, and each summer an intern works alongside me to maintain the farm while supervising and mentoring a crew of approximately 10 high school student workers. I’m reaching out to see if you would be willing to share this upcoming paid internship opportunity with students in your program who may be interested in sustainable agriculture, environmental education, food systems, or community-based work.
This internship is designed for college students and recent graduates and combines hands-on farm work with youth mentorship. Interns support daily farm operations while helping guide and supervise high school students, gaining experience in sustainable agriculture practices, leadership, and teaching in an outdoor, collaborative setting. Prior extensive farm experience is not required; we are especially interested in students who are curious, reliable, and excited to work with young people.
I would be grateful if you could share the attached posting with your students via email, a listserv, or any other appropriate avenues.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like additional information. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider sharing this opportunity.
Trudi Timperman
