Adding StreamingGrpcSink implementation for transport_sockets.Tap filter

Hey all,

We ( @ Ericsson) are interested in adding an implementation for StreamingGrpcSink to existing set of sinks for Envoy tapping filter for transport_sockets.Tap extension. We  have been investigating the tapping filter and the existing tapping sinks at transport_socket level using file sink/streaming admin was  not suitable for production solutions. We have an implementation for the same and wish to contribute it back to the community.  Wanted to get a feedback from the community and if its ok to issue PR in case no one else is working on this feature.

Hi, Devan,

It will be great to create an issue first, then describe your use-case, then the community will triage the issue. If the design is complex, it is also good to have a design doc.

This is something I have wanted to see for several years so would love to see this happen. I don't think it will be terribly difficult to implement.
