to Envision Halifax
Hello Envision Halifax!
We invited you to a conversation on *Fanning the Flames of Civic
Engagement* on July 10, 2009 hosted at the Hub on Barrington Street -
a gathering of Envision alumni and friends interested in engaging with
others to deepen their leadership practice - and of people who just
want to plug in to Envision.
Some people showed up - yay and thanks - and some people said, yes,
yes I'm interested but I can't be there - keep me posted.
The conversations were interesting and, among other places, led us
here - to this site - as one means of enabling people to plug in,
begin conversations, continue conversations, be in community on-line
and also generate opportunities to be in community in person.
You will find pages outlining various conversations we expect to host
- will be hosted - in the fall of 2009 - leading to a larger
conversation - a Summit if you will - we'd like to host in January of
2010.
You can be involved in any or all of the conversations posted and/or
you could use this forum to post and/or host one of your own. We
continue to ask: What are you passionate about and how do we turn
that passion into movement for this community? And why not through
Envision Halifax?
This will not be the only forum for plugging in but I suspect it will
be one of the best and most current. Come and play - here and in
person. If you want to plug into one of these conversations, announce
it! Claim it!
Find collaborators, mentors, stimulators and resources to deepen your
leadership skills. become bolder and envision your own meaning and
action associated with civic engagement in Halifax.
And welcome, welcome into an ongoing evolution of Envision!
With excitement, curiousity and a readiness to let go.... Kathy
Jourdain
