Hey all! does anyone have anything that they'd like to see discussed/done/put on the agenda for the Org meeting on monday?? ANNNDDD I think it would be cool if everyone brought like a veg. friendly dish to share. We could even have a cooking party/recipe swap tomorrow evening or something if anyone is down. Let me know. Have a great day!

I could help cook if we're cooking. Is there an actual kitchen-like space with a stove? I have stir-fry stuff and a heavy wok - we could do that and people could bring things they want to have stir-fried. Or I can bring a dish if there's no cooking space.

At some point I'd like to move for two things, and get some initial committees and discussions planned if the group approves:

1. Formalizing the all-KSU Earth Day thing and planning on approaching all groups to participate, pitch in, and pledge personal/group commitments that go on a big banner that gets hung up for accountability and success stories. I'd like to get group buy-in to propose it to SABAC on Wednesday, then to SGU, Faculty Senate, and eventually Climate Council and Dr. Papp's group, so that it could be a coordinated, pre-planned campus-wide thing with everyone on board by March for budget, planning, and project management.

2. A stand-alone PEAK website like I've posted about, with pages for our various causes and issues, with an owner for each page/cause/issue. I've got cost figures and can show some plans for how we could do it. I really like egalitarian group designs and operations, where everyone does their own thing, so if a particular person was into, say, opposing GMOs, they could have a page for that with whatever graphics they designed and whatever bells and whistles they want, links, info sources, discussions, etc. as long as it's within being Linux-hostable and built in Dreamweaver. There are group management tools in the Dreamweaver stuff. All the project pages would sit under the main PEAK site page, and announcements and such could be boosted up to a main calendar.

Hey PEAKers,

Chris-I completely agree with both of your points. I am having a lot
of problems w/ this google groups page and I haven't been able to post
anything (even though the confirmation page keeps saying that my
message has been posted --???). We really really need to get the ball
rolling for Earth Day, so I think it would be good if we use that as
one of our main focal points at the meeting. I am putting together a
letter that we can send out to companies, businesses, organizations,
other groups, etc. asking for contributions for the KSU Earth Day this
year (we need to send these ASAP), and like Chris said, we need to ask
the other campus groups for their participation early so that they
have time to make changes. It would be cool if the members of PEAK
could bring a list of green corporations or businesses who they think
would be willing to assist us.
Also, I would like it if we could discuss PEAKs roll in the recycling
programs on campus and at the dorms at KSU. This weekend I plan to
write up my aspirations and expectations for our involvement in
recycling, and I will also try to put together what our group has
accomplished this far.
Other than that, I have this AWESOME tofu recipe that I'd be happy to
share w/ everyone at the meeting!
