a Birthday Party Bonfire (Vegan cupcake bake prior to bonfire

Earth Day (ED) Working Group Notes:
Slogan/Message: For ED
“Mother Earth has taken care of us, lets take care of her!!”

Goals for ED Event:
Long-term: Maximize a comprehensive KSU ecological focus including 75%
of RSOs 3 years from now!

Mid-term: 2011 Earth Day Rewards for RSOs and parts of KSU that
participate in EarthDay Commitments for one full year! Cross-pollinate
with partnering organizations for collaboration in the future!

Short-term: Raise awareness, touch base, and generate a list of ED
participating RSOs and KSU organizations by March 15, 2010. Immediate
direction of ED involvements and commitments to the KSU
Administration, Faculty Senate, and SGA by March 15, 2010.

Tactics for accomplishing goals:
~~ list of RSOs to touch base with and update on participation
~~ letters for donations from organizations/businesses involved in ED
~~ personal meetings with RSOs to deliver ED proposal
~~ S.A.B.A.C funding/budget outline for ED by February 24 for the
March 3 delivery
~~ SGA presentation by March 15
~~ Banner signing and commitments at ED
~~ Class Wraps & Handouts
~~ “Wear Green T-shirts on ED” message
~~ Seventh Generation and other businesses
~~ Local, Organic Farm representation
~~ Soy candles (candle lighting over electrical lighting)
~~ Food demo (raw food, vegetarian, vegan)
~~ Recycling bins (KSU housing in Earth Day)
