to Progressive Earth Alliance at Kennesaw
Hi PEAKers,

I just wanted to say that I'm really happy with our new start, and
with all the enthusiasm and passion flowing within our group I have no
doubt that we will be able to make great strides toward getting our
campus and community to "go green" (sooo cliché! - But you know what I
mean!)
As for the purpose of this email, I wanted to share what I will be
working on for PEAK this weekend, and I encourage anyone else who is
willing to post their contributions as well!
This weekend I plan to email the AASA (African American Student
Alliance-here is a link to their website if anyone is interested:
http://www.kennesaw.edu/clubs/aasa/) in order to see if they would
possibly be willing to meet with us in regards to the Bartwo county
land donation and the possibility of an organic farm. In addition to
this, I would like to inform the Alliance about PEAK and our
intentions to tackle environmental issues which are the direct result
of stuctural violence -- and of course, send each memeber a warm
invitation to join PEAK.
Next, I would like to put together a formal email asking companies,
stores, and organizations (such as Seventh Generation, Staples
Ecoeasy, Whole Foods, etc.) if they would be willing to contribute to
our Earth Day event this year. It is important that we ask this
companies and organizations for their contributions well in advanced
so that we give them time to prepare. Please let me know if you know
of any other green corporations or businesses that may be willing to
assist us.
In addition to this, I plan on putting together a list of my
expectations for the recycling aspect of PEAK and what our group has
accomplished up to this point.
Other than that, I just want to thank everyone for their great work so
far this semester! If we can keep up these high energy levels, I know
that we will accomplish great things!

Heyyy,

I totally agree that we need to open up a dialogue with AASA. I don't know if you've sent them an email yet but I just think that we need to be SUPER careful what kind of language is used when we talk with them. I don't think it should sound like we're trying to negotiate or anything along those lines. We just want to hear their sentiments =)
