The old contacts API is deprecated in 2.x but can be used. However during
testing duplicate contacts (which may be merged but possibly leave
duplicate contact details by other sync adapters).

The solution will be to upgrade to the new 2.x contact management API's.
This issue has been created to acknowledge the current limitation and to
ensure that duplicate contact handling is resolved in a future release.
