Part of the LS&S contract requires development of a 'new' strategic plan. With only four days notice, they have set a meeting for this Tuesday at 9:30 am.  This is unfortunate since many (most?) users of the library work or are in school at this time.  Please ask them to hold another session, with at least 2 weeks notice so people can arrange their schedules, for a meeting in the evening so that working people and school-age youth can attend and participate.

March 13, 9:30 AM Strategic Planning for the Library under LS&S control.   We encourage anyone who can attend to please do so.

Please:
a.      Ask them to hold another meeting during a time working people and school-aged youth could attend with, at least, a 2 week notice.
b.      Ask them to develop a strategic plan to re-open the East Valley Branch library before the end of 2018.
c.       Ask them for a robust level of programming for Spanish-speaking residents, kids, and families.
d.      Ask for programs and resources to help people find jobs and to prepare for them.
e.      Ask for a plan to create an independent library district to ensure the library is controlled by the public, for the public.
f.   Ask them for a robust level of programming for teens and young people
g.  Other programs you wish to see added or protected.
