Hello all,

Trying to use ELM as a sort of media-server, rather than a pixel driver (clip output to second monitor which feeds to video wall. I can use via ArtNet ok, but unsure what options I should have for Library and Image SubAttribute?

Equally, with the CITP viewer on the MA2 itself, I can see and connect to the feed but get no output.

Hopefully the photo and video below should make sense. Apologies for the audio, working warehouse environment

Many Thanks

Adam

Both the library and image subattributes should be clipselect. Unless you're using the extended remote mode in ELM?

For the video feed, unfortunately, since ELM is made for LED mapping, the video preview is about the LED preview. Since you have no LEDs, it will always be only a black screen. What you can do to see something is to patch LEDs even tough you're not using any. You can set the network adapter to be localhost (127.0.0.1) for the art-net or sACN output to avoid sending unneeded data on the network.

Thanks for your quick reply! Unsure on remote modes, what's the difference?

If I patch just a single LED (presumaly in ELM), will I get output on the viewer?

The basic mode do the crossfade between media for you and doesn't allow to change the transition type. With the extended mode, you can mix the media for the A and B sides and select the transition type (mix mode), change the speed on each side, etc.

Yes, but only one pixel! So you're better patching a 100x70 array of something like this.

In which case, I was going with Extended Mode.

Ok fab, thanks. Back in the office tomorrow so I'll try that and report back

Oh, now I'm thinking about the license! If you patch a large LED array, that means you'll need a large license. So that's surely not what you want since you're not using LEDs. In this case, patch a LED array as large as your license allows, which I guess will be a 4U license.
