Hallo,

I have read in the new features of the 2025 version there is a possibility to import DXF files into elm, but i cant get it working, first of all elm says: ERROR DXF file version not supported : AutoCad14.

Second of all i, assume you should have sort of a specific drawing made on a specific way.
can someone tell me how i should, import the right file and how to configure the drawing and mapping. i cant find anything on the web concerning this.

This option whould make my life way easier, but its not clear at all how i should do this.

Friendly greetings,
Olav

Hi,

The supported file version is Autocad 2000 or more recent. You can draw about any shapes and they'll be imported as strips. If you want to use 3D, then avoid using curves in order to be able to use the top, side and front views.

I am using the newest version of Autodesk Fusion 360, so its not an old version of autocad. (who is using a version of pre 2000?!)
And tried various options aswell, and get the same error. (tried Rhino, Inkscape, and the Gimp)

Thank you

Hi,

You can post your dxf file here and I'll check what might be the problem.

Hi,

The version field is really Autocad 14. The field $ACADVER has a value of AC1014, which is Autocad 14.

It looks like Fusion 360 only saves in this version (R14). For newer version, you can use Autocad to do the conversion as described here:
