Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical SAP and enterprise IT initiatives for a Midwest-based client. This role requires strong ownership of delivery, stakeholder management, and execution across complex, cross-functional programs.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing SAP programs (ECC / S/4HANA / SAP integrations) along with broader IT transformation initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Delivery

Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP and enterprise IT initiatives, from planning through execution and closure.
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
Drive detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverables using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

SAP & IT Initiative Leadership

Oversee SAP-related initiatives such as upgrades, enhancements, integrations, rollouts, or process optimisation.
Coordinate with SAP functional, technical, integration, and data teams.
Ensure alignment between SAP solutions and broader IT architecture and business strategy.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, IT leadership, system integrators, and vendors.
Facilitate steering committee updates, executive status reporting, and decision-making forums.
Manage vendor performance, deliverables, and contractual expectations.

Risk, Governance & Compliance

Proactively identify risks and issues; develop mitigation and escalation plans.
Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, and financial tracking.

Change & Communication

Drive effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support change management activities, including readiness, adoption planning, and training coordination.
Ensure smooth transition to operations and support teams post-implementation.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, with significant SAP project experience
Proven experience managing SAP ECC / S/4HANA programs or SAP-centric IT initiatives
Strong understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, integrations, and dependencies
Hands-on experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills

Strong financial management, forecasting, and vendor management experience
Ability to operate independently in a remote, fast-paced contract environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Midwest-based US clients
Exposure to large-scale digital transformation or ERP modernisation programs
PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or similar certification
Prior experience in manufacturing, utilities, retail, or regulated industries
