As you know I've been working on a Let's Play of Entombed and I've got
all but the last episode recorded. I'll start uploading more episodes
once I've got it recorded. But I want to record the final victory
first. I do have an episode featuring the last battle, but I got wiped
out by the Lich and so I wanted to record one more showing a victory.
But since I already showed the crystal fight figured I'd wait to
start recording till after the crystals were destroyed. Well I made an
attempt a little while ago and this is where the weirdness comes in.
My pet Silvermane was turned to stone by a Cockatrice quite a few
floors back and I didn't carry his corpse with me. Well during the
most recent battle with Allissa and her crystaline cohorts, the red
crystal cast Lightning and lo and behold, it reanimated my pet's
corpse. Again, I didn't carry the statue with me, so it seems to me
there's no way this could be possible. The battle didn't end well for
me but the whole experience was a bit unsettling.

That's happened to me many times while I've been playing entombed. I'd lose
my pet on one floor and two or three floors later, an enemy char would use
lightning and reanimate my dead pet when my pet wasn't even there.

Guess this is just one of those bugs entombed seems to be infested with.

I agree. Right along with the fact that there's really no way to
protect weaker characters. Of course i'd still feel there should be
ameans, even if a relatively rare one, of fully reviving a character.
And one that doesn't involve reloading a saved game. Because on later
floors that can take friggin' forever.
