There really has to be more potients and scrolls in the lower levels to pick up, like from level 10 all the way through to the end or even another town with general store etc where you can buy scrolls and potients.

 

I just reached level 13, and from level 2, I didn’t see one potient or scroll on the ground to pick up. Even when I kept going back to the twilight town every three or so levels, there sometimes wasn’t any scrolls or potients to buy there.

 

I ended up having to let the two chars I rescued earlier die from snake poisoning on level 12 and at the bottom of the steps leading from level 13 and then my char got bitten by a snake in level 13 and without any cure poison potions I wouldn’t have made it even two levels back up to go to the twilight town to see if they had any more potients.

It is so random... I’m at level 6 and I have 13 cure poison pots, 8 healing pots and 2 cure zombie pots. So honestly it is random... If you really want to keep your chars do save and go to the tavern and get quests that drop potions. and or go to the store and see if you can go back and forth to get poison pots.

I was continuously going back to the store to get cure poison potions, other potions and scrolls, only thing was, they didn’t have any of that one. Only had healing, curse and some others but no cure poison. And that was at the time when the two female chars that I rescued got killed by poison and then my char followed not long after.

 

Now I just reloaded the game, it started from level 12 which was where I last saved the game, and I had one of the females with me as a zombie. Would love to know when that happened since the last part i played was after they both got killed by the poisen.

 

Oh well, like I said in my email the other day, I’ve made a new record for me by reaching level 13 today so maybe next time I restart the game from scratch I’ll make it to level 15 or higher.

Three words.

 

Save and restore. If you get poisoned and don't have any cure poison, restore to before the event. The snakes probably will not be in the same location.

 

As frustrating as it might be, the game is random and you will have games that will give you lots of potions and few scrolls, lot of scrolls and few potions, a few of either or tons of each. It's totally random in that regard. The only somewhat reliable  source is the general store, and the stock changes every 3 levels, so if you can get through 3 levels, teleport back to the general store and buy them. Usually, the store has a good stock early in the game and it's worth it to spend the coin and build up a stock early on. Buy whenever you can and if you don't have enough gold, go back again and buy later.

Hello,

your problem is you aren’t saving when you want to reload.

I save when ever I get some good items or go to the store or right before I go to the store. What you can do is save, hit f1 to go to the store, look at the store to see if there is anything good, go down to the 3rd floor if there is nothing good and reload from your last saved point which is “no” in the list.

You can do the same with the tavern as well.

You can’t do the game without this reload option.

another technique is to buy everything in the store before you go to that 3rd level and that way everything in the store will change.
