Hello,
I’m wondering what constitutes a high score?
I Made it through the dungeon without any casualties, did every single quest and I got like rank 900 or something... I’m probably guessing that it has something to do with time, but I’m not sure.
I may try doing a game on hard to see how that improves my chances...
Thanks,

HI,

Your score is computed many ways. But here are some things to consider:

1. Clearing the entire floor of all opponents.
2. Clearing the floor of all unexplored spaces.
3. The types of quests. There are 3 levels to a quest. Normal, difficult,
and very difficult. If normal is 1 point, and difficult is 2 points, then
very difficult is 3 points for example. So the harder the quests the more
points you earn.
4. the path you take also plays on the points you earn. How, not sure. But
it does seem to.
5. Hard mode does seem to give you some type of bonus. Without hard mode, it
is doubtful you will make the top 50.

These are all I know of. If anyone else knows of other ways, hopefully they
will post them.

good luck.

Hi, just regarding playing entombed in hard mode and easy mode, what do you
have to do to play hard mode?

Hi,

I believe race has a lot to do with it to, so playing something fairly easy like an ogre  will earn you less points than say playing something more of a challenge like a fairy.  I think this also counts for your party members  too so 3 fairys as your party would earn you a hefty score on hard  (although that would be one seriously difficult game lol)

Hi,

To enter and play hard mode, hold down the shift key while pressing enter on
new game. it should then say hard mode good luck mortal, or something to
that degree.

Good luck.

Hi,

Yes. I did forget that one. The weaker your starting player the better your
score is. If you choose and ogre, you actually start out with a high
disadvantage with accumulating points. the only exception to this is that
you score more points as a goblin than a fairy. This has to do with the fact
that if you kill a fairy, you will earn more experience points than if you
kill a goblin.

In fact, I have played a mission with I believe a human as my main
character, and rescued 2 fairies. Not easy, but doable

Thanks for reminding me.

Hi,

I never knew that about the goblin, but it makes sense since the last time I
looked I think the top high scores were all goblins.

1 human and 2 fairys, now that defintly sounds like a difficult game. I
think that's one of the things I love about entombed is the randomness of
no matter what your main character you never know what other characters
you'll end up with and you have to change your strategy accordingly. I found
nomes got a good final score too and are pretty tough too.
