Hi all, just regarding the entombed game, why is it that when ever you find the rescuable character on the 2^nd and 5^th floors, all the enemies on that floor vanish?

Hi. I've fought enemies on the second and fifth floors after I've rescued the additional characters. At the same time, I've had all the enemies except for the ones holding the rescued characters captive disappear before that. I think that there are only a certain number of enemies on each floor.
