http://image.exct.net/lib/fef317727c6d01/i/1/7063c092-1.jpgHi John,

I hope your summer is going well and things aren't too frantic given the torrid pace of our industry. I don't know about you, but I'm having a tough time keeping up. Just when I think I'm on top of things, I hear about a bunch of new innovations that are months-old and that somehow completely escaped my radar. Reading my RSS reader is like drinking from a fire hose and I'm afraid to take a vacation.

Well, when it comes to mashups, we're doing our part to make sure you don't miss anything. The reason I'm writing is to update you on two Mashup Camps coming this fall. On October 6, 7, and 8, Mashup Camp will debut in New York City at the New York Information Technology Center in Manhattan. Over the years, we've been repeatedly asked to bring Mashup Camp to The Big Apple. So, New York, here we come!  If you live on the East Coast, or can make it there, be sure to save the dates.

Then, if one Mashup Camp isn't enough (or if you can't make the East Coast edition), be sure to set aside November 17, 18, and 19 for a West Coast edition at our favorite Silicon Valley venue: The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.

If you're a Mashup Camp veteran you'll notice from the dates that we've trimmed Camp down from 4 to 3 days. This is just one of the many improvements we've made to "the unconference for the uncomputer" that's based on the feedback we've been getting from the Mashup Camp community.  Be sure to watch for our newly designed MashupCamp.com Web site this August which will include all the gory details on the new 3-day format, including new elements as well as traditional favorites like SpeedGeeking.  Registration for both Camps will open when the new site launches.

So, save the dates and watch your inboxes for an e-mail from me in the coming month or so.  Meanwhile, have a great summer and I hope to see you this fall.
