EWD on Ubuntu Linux: How does it make itself to the default app on the machine ?

I had installed EWD (mgwtools-1.10_amd64.deb) on an Ubuntu Linux 64
Bit machine some months ago; and then uninstalled it again.

But until today, the following behaviour occurs on the machine:
- Invoking the IP address of the machine - or a domain which points to
the IP - I am always redirected to the following URL:
- /ewd/mdb/index.mgwsi?

I have uninstalled the Apache 2 Webserver, too ! And let Tomcat listen
to Port 80 instead ...
But: Tomcat, too, is redirected to '/ewd/mdb/index.mgwsi?' for the
entry URL (IP address or domain pointing to it) !

I have already searched and configured/fiddled around a lot ! But to
no avail ! I cannot accomplish my goal: Invoking MY Tomcat App with a
domain URL pointing to the hosting machine; for the curious: And the
domain URL is (drumroll please): www.planetspiel.eu

What has the EWD installation done on Ubuntu Linux in order to achieve
this behaviour ? I mean to sustainably make it THE default (Port 80)
App on the machine ?

Actually, I think your problem must be to do with caching. EWD itself doesn't do anything to redirect Apache requests, there is a static html page (index.html) which redirects to /ewd/mdb/index.mgwsi?. If you have uninstalled mgwtools and Apache, then that will be gone, and there can be nothing left to do the redirecting.
I would say you need to clear out all caches and try again. Hope that helps.

Hello Mike !

I could indeed find the file which did the relocation:
- /var/www/index.html

And Your reply brought me further luck: http://www.planetspiel.eu does
NOT point any longer to /var/www/index.html ! But this is due to
another Tomcat configuration and not due to me deleting index.html ...

Thanks again !

Cheers and Tschüss

Kai
