Position Summary:
· This position is responsible for planning, development, configuration, implementation, administration and maintenance of the firm's database environment.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for installing and configuring of all database servers in accordance with best practice and firm policies, including design, capacity planning, risk assessment and compliance checks.
· Responsible for providing primary database support for all firm-wide projects, including gathering requirements, identifying viable technologies and providing recommendations on specific solution.
· Responsible for providing database technical assistance in trouble-shooting and resolving application related problems.
· Responsible for developing and maintaining reports using Microsoft Reporting Services and other available reporting tools.
· Responsible for performing system monitoring and database tuning to ensure the optimal performance.
· Responsible for providing data import/export and analysis for end users and business partners.
· Responsible for acting as the point of contact for all database related incidents and change control management.
· Responsible for playing the leading role in database design, capacity planning, risk assessment and compliance checks for all applications.
· Responsible for taking the lead in evaluation of new products, technologies and best practices which are appropriate to the firm's business value and interest and making recommendations.
· Responsible for developing and maintaining documented standards for database management including server build, policies, audit rules and maintenance jobs.
· Responsible for liaising between management, sponsors, users and other information technology personnel to communicate issues regarding overall database operations status and strategy.
· Responsible for managing the relationship with software vendors, escalating issues that require immediate resolution and advocating for fixes/patches to the applications when appropriate.
· Responsible for staying current on database technologies and guiding junior staffs in their development.
Business Relationship Management:
· Provide regular update on work process and project developments through assigned reporting methods and approved social media platforms.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in information Technology or equivalent experience
· MCITP or MCDBA certification is preferred.
· Experience working with Microsoft SQL database administration in an enterprise environment (5+ years).
· Experience in Microsoft SQL database development and programming (5+ years)
· In-depth knowledge of server –client computing, relational database, Virtualization and Clustering technologies.
· Good knowledge and understanding of ITIL processes and procedures.
