Hello:

Recently, I turned over my EOS R7 to Canon for repair.  It had just died in the middle of a session with Entangle.

The camera returned with a note that the PCB was not operating within specs and it had been replaced.  The firmware was apparently also updated.

When I received the camera---amazingly quickly, by the way---I verified it is the same camera, and hooked it up the same way as I had been doing for years: Manjaro i3 and entangle.  This has been working flawlessly for all the time between, for this camera as well as an EOS M50.  I used the same cable, on the same desktop.

I was able to connect the camera, with a "session" configured, and confgure the settings at least to some extent.

I have not been able to capture a single image. The following message is received each time:

Entangle "Operation faled"

Opoeration: Preview

Unable to capture image: Canon EOS Full-Press failed (0x2019: PTP Device Busy)

When I attached to a macbook pro (M2), and the canon software, I was able to capture an image fine.  I was using the same cable, a 12', I think, high spec cable which I purchased for this project.

I have reinstalled Manjaro, and the result is the same.

My warranty expires in October, so I hope to solve this problem before then.

I might note that comments on the Canon community site have sometimes suggested using only Windows or MacOS, and being up-to-date.

Thank you for any suggestions.  I hope to hear from this list before contacting Canon again.

Embarassingly, I just spent some days chasing down a simple setting: the camera was set to not capture a photograph when a lens is not attached.

I believe it will be fine now.

I can only apologize for the earlier message.
