StJoseph's is a voluntary aided Catholic primary school serving the semi-rural village of Anderton, near Chorley. It serves the township of Adlington and the parishes of Anderton and Heath Charnock. The school enjoys excellent relationships with the parish and the local community in this friendly village. In addition, we work closely with all the local nurseries, as well as having very strong links with the local high schools, particularly Holy Cross in Chorley and St Joseph's in Horwich, who work with the school to provide invaluable extra curricular and cross curricular support as well as excellent transition arrangements for those children going on to the next stage of their school lives.

As part of our extended services provision, we work closely with Anderton Day Nursery to provide breakfast and after-school care, and we also work with the other Adlington nurseries and schools to jointly fulfill other necessary provision.

We are committed to providing an education which is exciting, broad, balanced and accessible to all. The happiness and fulfilment of your child is our primary concern and we believe that, in order to achieve this, we need to develop a secure partnership between home and school. We strongly encourage parental support and involvement in the life of our school.

Last week we waved XXXX off as she embarked on her first trip away from her parents and needless to say, we were a little nervous about how the week would unfold. We loved seeing our daughter and her friends on the Twitter feed - it allowed us to share in the experience from afar and also allowed us to stay in touch with her well being, knowing that she was enjoying it as much as the pictures and films suggested. She arrived home very tired but beaming with excitement to share the stories of the week. You really did create an amazing experience for our daughter and i just wanted to share my thanks. The support from the school for both XXXX and us as parents has been really appreciated.

If you wish to visit the school, need any further information or wish to give your constructive views on any aspect of our provision, please do not hesitate to contact us by telephoning the office on 01257 480598 or e-mailing us at bur...@st-josephs-anderton.lancs.sch.uk

Our hard working and dedicated staff are committed to providing the best possible education through a vibrant fun and interactive curriculum. Our aim is to ensure that each child is challenged and aspires to reach their very best.

The school currently has two interim head teachers who are covering the absence of the substantive head teacher. As a job share partnership we would welcome the opportunity to show current and prospective families around our school. If you would like to book an appointment to do this, please call 01666 822331.

I am however not a Catholic but am committed to church school and Catholic education. I have a mature family with children who have passed through both primary and secondary education. I have a passion for developing a broad, balanced and hands on curriculum.

At St Joseph's Primary School, we believe that all members of our community are entitled to a positive, safe, caring and happy environment. All the children are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Everyone will be treated with Love, Kindness and Respect: The St. Joseph's Way.

This is an Outstanding school. 'Pupils are proud of their achievements at this aspirational primary school, and rightly so. Across subjects, they excel in their learning.'- March 2024
