Dear Amazon EC2 Customer,
We're excited to announce that the AWS Management Console has added support for our monitoring service, Amazon CloudWatch. The AWS Management Console provides a simple point-and-click web interface for managing your AWS resources. Amazon CloudWatch Basic Monitoring automatically collects operational and performance metrics for your Amazon EC2 instances at five-minute frequency, free of charge. Starting today, you can get started searching and browsing those metrics, viewing graphs to troubleshoot issues and discover trends, creating and editing alarms to be notified of problems, and seeing at-a-glance overviews of your alarms and AWS resources - all from your browser.
Amazon CloudWatch Detailed Monitoring for Amazon EC2 is also available and allows you to get 1-minute metrics for your Amazon EC2 instances for an additional $0.015 per instance-hour. Detailed Monitoring can be enabled from the Amazon EC2 Management Console. In addition, Amazon CloudWatch automatically monitors your Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon RDS DB instances, and Elastic Load Balancers free of charge. Access to the AWS management console is provided free of charge at: aws.amazon.com/console.
Sincerely,
The Amazon Web Services Team
